UNIDO Director General Visits China: Exploring the Future of Green and Intelligent Industry at SKYWORTH
From April 14 to 17, Gerd Müller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), visited China and toured SKYWORTH Group’s headquarters in Shenzhen, engaging in in-depth discussions on green industrial transformation, digital innovation, and global cooperation for sustainable development.
During the visit, Director General Müller and his delegation visited SKYWORTH Group’s Shenzhen headquarters on April 16 from 13:30 to 14:30, where they toured the SKYWORTH exhibition hall and received a comprehensive business briefing in a dynamic and productive atmosphere. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Lin Jin, Chairman of SKYWORTH Group, alongside Ms Qu Wanfei, Chief Investment Officer of SKYWORTH Group、CEO & Director of SKYWORTH PV, as well as members of SKYWORTH PV’s overseas business team, who participated in the exchange and presentations.

A Comprehensive Showcase of Innovation: From Intelligent Manufacturing to Multi-Sector Industrial Synergy
During the exhibition tour, Director General Müller and his delegation gained a systematic understanding of SKYWORTH Group’s achievements across multiple core industries, including smart home appliances, intelligent system technologies, new energy, and modern services, reflecting the company’s full-spectrum industrial ecosystem.
Director General Müller highly recognized SKYWORTH’s accomplishments in technological innovation, industrial integration, and global development, while also affirming the important role Chinese high-tech enterprises play in advancing industrial upgrading and green transformation. In the subsequent discussions, both sides engaged in meaningful dialogue on future cooperation opportunities, with a strong focus on how technological innovation and industrial collaboration can drive a more inclusive and sustainable path for industrial development.

Director General Müller expressed his hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the future, jointly exploring broader global development opportunities across industrial and technological sectors.
Focusing on Africa’s Energy Transition: From Electricity Access to Clean Living
A key topic during the exchange was energy access and livelihood improvement in Africa. UNIDO specifically highlighted that in some African regions, clean energy is not only essential for electricity generation, but also plays a critical role in replacing traditional high-pollution cooking methods and improving basic living conditions.

In response to these practical challenges, both sides held in-depth discussions on integrated “PV + Energy Storage + Household Energy Solutions,” aiming to provide safer, cleaner, and more sustainable energy support for African communities through systematic new energy solutions, thereby promoting healthier lifestyles and social development.
SKYWORTH emphasized that, drawing on its extensive experience in distributed solar, energy storage systems, and international project deployment, it can further explore comprehensive energy solutions tailored to developing markets, using technological innovation to advance energy equity and accessibility.
Building Bridges Through Innovation to Advance Global Sustainable Industrial Cooperation
As a global technology enterprise founded in 1988, SKYWORTH Group operates across four core sectors: smart home appliances, intelligent technologies, new energy, and modern services. In recent years, the company has accelerated its strategic expansion in photovoltaics and smart energy, building a complete capability system spanning product R&D, system integration, and global project delivery.
Today, SKYWORTH has established a Shenzhen-headquartered global industrial and service network, continuously strengthening its capabilities in intelligent manufacturing, energy digitalization, and international market development.
The visit by UNIDO’s senior leadership not only reflects recognition of Chinese enterprises’ innovation capabilities, but also opens new possibilities for future cooperation in green industry, clean energy, and global sustainable development.
Against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transition and industrial upgrading, dialogue between international organizations and Chinese enterprises is becoming increasingly important. This exchange between UNIDO and SKYWORTH Group was not merely a corporate visit, but a meaningful exploration of shared consensus around green development and humanity’s collective future. Looking ahead, both sides are expected to deepen cooperation across broader fields, jointly contributing to a more inclusive, sustainable, and innovation-driven global industrial landscape.
